Introduction
Our client is seeking a motivated and resilient Bilingual French & English Collections Agent to join their growing financial services team in Barrie, Ontario. Compensation: $40,000 to $58,000 annually, including base salary and average commission earnings.
Work Location: In-office, Barrie, Ontario
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Flexible availability required between Monday and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
What You’ll Do
As a Bilingual Collections Agent, you will work directly with both French-speaking and English-speaking customers to resolve overdue accounts, negotiate repayment arrangements, and support positive customer outcomes while meeting collection goals.

Responsibilities
- Contact customers regarding overdue and delinquent accounts
- Negotiate payment arrangements within approved guidelines
- Create customized repayment solutions based on customer circumstances
- Manage accounts across multiple stages of delinquency
- Handle high-volume inbound and outbound collection calls in a KPI-driven environment
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payment commitments
- Educate customers on account status and available payment options
- Follow company policies and regulatory standards for collections activity
- Assess account risk and escalate files when appropriate
- Meet individual and team recovery targets
- Deliver professional customer service while balancing collection objectives
- Support additional collections-related duties as required
Qualifications
- Fully bilingual in French and English, both written and verbal
- Previous collections experience within telecom, banking, lending, financial services, or consumer collections environments
- Comfortable working in a high-volume call centre setting
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Resilient and confident handling difficult conversations professionally
- Motivated by performance goals and commission incentives
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Able to adapt to rotating schedules and changing priorities
- Comfortable working onsite in Barrie, Ontario
- Full schedule flexibility required, including occasional Saturdays
