Compensation: $85,000 to $90,000 annualized, prorated for the approximately three-month assignment.
Work arrangement: In-office, five days per week in the Greater Toronto Area.
Contract term: Approximately three months, with an immediate start strongly preferred.
What You’ll Do
You will serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers, providing practical guidance across employee relations, labour relations, performance management and day-to-day HR operations.

Responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact for employee and manager HR questions.
- Coach and advise managers on employee relations and workplace matters.
- Interpret and apply collective agreement provisions and HR policies.
- Support labour relations matters, grievances and grievance resolution.
- Assist with workplace investigations, conflict resolution and disciplinary processes.
- Support performance management, attendance management and employee development initiatives.
- Coordinate leaves of absence, workplace accommodations and return-to-work programs.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS information.
- Assist with payroll and benefits administration as required.
- Help ensure compliance with applicable Canadian federal and provincial employment legislation.
- Provide HR support across operational teams and business units as required.
- Build productive relationships quickly and provide clear, practical guidance to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in a Generalist capacity.
- Professional bilingual proficiency is required.
- Demonstrated experience supporting a unionized workforce.
- Hands-on experience with labour relations, collective agreement interpretation and grievance handling.
- Strong employee relations expertise, including experience advising managers on performance and workplace matters.
- Knowledge of applicable Canadian employment legislation.
- Experience supporting investigations, accommodations, leaves and attendance management.
- Strong judgment, discretion and confidence when handling sensitive employee matters.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands and become productive quickly.
- Practical, solutions-oriented approach with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
