Introduction
Our client is seeking a Bilingual Controller to join their leadership team in Durham Region, east of the GTA. This is an existing vacancy with immediate availability for an experienced finance professional who is looking for a stable, long-term opportunity within a collaborative and well-structured organization.
This role is ideal for a CPA-designated leader who values consistency, operational excellence, and building strong internal relationships. French language skills are considered an asset for this position, but are not required.
Compensation for this position ranges from $140,000 to $150,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
What You’ll Do
As Controller, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial health and operational stability of the organization. You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and strong financial controls while supporting day-to-day business operations.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls and accounting procedures
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting
- Lead and mentor team members across finance and operational support functions
- Support hiring, onboarding, employee development, and performance management
- Collaborate with senior leadership on financial planning and operational improvements
- Maintain organized financial recordkeeping systems and reporting structures
- Support special projects and operational initiatives as required
Qualifications
- CPA designation required
- Minimum 10 years of progressive financial management experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office 365
- Experience with ERP and reporting systems is considered an asset
- French language skills are considered an asset
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured and professional environment
- Demonstrated leadership experience with team development and cross-functional collaboration
