Our client is seeking a Bilingual Senior Analyst, Financial Operations to join a collaborative finance team supporting a complex, multi-entity financial services environment. What You’ll Do
In this role, you will help ensure financial operations are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established controls and regulatory requirements.
Working closely with Finance, Operations, and Technology teams, you will support critical financial processes, investigate discrepancies, improve workflows, and help guide accounts payable activities. You will also have opportunities to contribute to management reporting and special projects that broaden your financial operations experience.
Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end commission calculations, validation, reconciliation, and payment processing across multiple entities.
- Investigate commission discrepancies, payment issues, transaction corrections, and outstanding reconciliation items.
- Respond professionally and promptly to commission and payment inquiries.
- Validate sales tax registration information and support sales tax calculations, tracking, reconciliations, and remittances.
- Perform regular reconciliations involving commission payments, trust accounts, and accounts payable activities.
- Monitor internal financial controls and identify opportunities to strengthen processes and workflows.
- Maintain clear process documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support regulatory reporting, tax-related filings, and internal and external audit requirements.
- Assist with management reporting, financial analysis, sales trends, commission analysis, and ad hoc projects.
- Support and supervise accounts payable team members, including training, workload coordination, and performance monitoring.
- Review journal entries, vendor invoices, and employee expense reimbursements for accuracy and compliance.
- Provide accounts payable coverage during peak periods and team absences.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education.
- Approximately 5 years of relevant experience in financial operations within the securities brokerage or financial services sector.
- Previous supervisory experience with the ability to coach and support team members.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including macros, pivot tables, and data management functionality.
- Strong reconciliation, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to follow issues through to resolution.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with specialized financial services operations or accounting platforms is considered an asset.
- Bilingual communication skills are required for this opportunity.
