Our client, a leading provider in the loading dock and industrial door industry, is currently seeking a highly skilled General Manager to join their team at the Mississauga Office. As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing operations across three locations spanning Ontario and Quebec. Your primary objective will be to drive financial and operational performance, devise strategic business plans, execute key initiatives, and facilitate business growth and profitability. Compliance with organizational policies and legal regulations will be paramount to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive short and mid-range business plans that are closely aligned with the company’s overarching strategy. Ensure effective communication and implementation of these plans throughout the organization.
- Lead the development and growth of the team, serving as a role model for effective leadership behaviors. Provide guidance and mentorship to foster professional growth and enhance overall performance.
- Establish and communicate operating policies and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Continuously seek opportunities for process optimization and enhancement.
- Implement corporate policies and procedures across various functional areas, including accounting, sales, human resources, and administrative services. Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
- Develop and execute corporate budgetary and strategic plans, closely monitoring performance indicators and adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Drive the implementation of corporate objectives and initiatives, such as safety protocols, quality standards, and competitive pricing strategies.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, seeking feedback to improve service delivery and satisfaction levels.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and effectively manage any local litigation issues that may arise.
- Oversee labor relations with unions, fostering positive working relationships and resolving any disputes or conflicts in a timely manner.
- Maintain a positive public image for the company by establishing and nurturing positive public relations initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in a multi-functional business-related role, preferably within the dock products industry.
- Bilingual proficiency in French is preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of strategic thinking and planning, coupled with solid managerial leadership experience.
- Strong background in sales, marketing, and customer service, with a deep understanding of the service business landscape.
- Advanced proficiency in change management and process improvement methodologies.
- Proven ability to develop and nurture talent, driving high levels of employee engagement and performance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence and motivate others to achieve common goals.
- Flexibility to travel to all business locations as needed (approximately 30-40% travel expected).
