Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Bilingual (French/English)
We are seeking an experienced, bilingual Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team in a hybrid role. As a key member of our technical support division, you will manage cases from dealerships across Canada, providing expert guidance and solutions for complex heavy equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze and diagnose complex mechanical problems reported by dealerships across Canada
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for heavy equipment issues in both French and English
• Develop and implement repair strategies for a wide range of heavy machinery and vehicles
• Create and maintain detailed service reports and equipment histories
• Collaborate with dealership technicians to ensure proper repair procedures are followed
• Conduct virtual training sessions for dealership staff on new equipment and repair techniques
• Occasionally travel to dealerships for on-site support and training
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic
• Fluency in French and English, with excellent communication skills in both languages
• In-depth knowledge of heavy equipment systems, including hydraulics, electronics, and powertrains
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Proficiency in using diagnostic software and equipment
• Experience with remote troubleshooting and support
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel when required
Required Skills:
• Expert-level knowledge of heavy equipment repair and maintenance procedures
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with digital service management systems
• Excellent customer service orientation3
• Ability to explain complex technical issues clearly and concisely
• Strong time management and organizational skills
Education and Certifications:
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Technology, or related field
• Red Seal certification as a Heavy Equipment Technician (or equivalent)
• Additional certifications in specific equipment brands or systems are an asset
Work Environment:
• Hybrid role with a combination of remote work and occasional on-site visits
• Regular hours with potential for overtime during high-demand periods
