Bilingual Automotive Service Advisor
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced automotive mechanic who is fluent in both English and French for a full-time, permanent office position. The ideal candidate will use their technical expertise to liaise between customers and shop mechanics, reviewing and approving repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with customers and mechanics in both English and French
- Review and analyze repair orders and diagnostic reports
- Approve repair recommendations based on technical knowledge and company guidelines
- Explain complex mechanical issues to customers in clear, understandable terms
- Coordinate with shop mechanics to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs
- Maintain accurate records of all communications, approvals, and repair histories
- Assist in inventory management and parts ordering as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
- Provide technical support and guidance to mechanics when required
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an automotive mechanic (minimum 5 years)
- Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken)
- Valid automotive technician certification
- Strong technical knowledge of various vehicle makes and models
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in computer systems and automotive diagnostic software
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Experience with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
