Title: Bilingual French/English Plant Manager

Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to lead our team as a Bilingual French/English Plant Manager in the construction sector. The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including production, quality control, safety, and personnel management, while effectively communicating with French and English-speaking staff and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plant Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the plant, including production scheduling, material procurement, and inventory management, to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes.
  2. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations, conducting regular inspections and audits as necessary.
  3. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety awareness and accountability among plant staff.
  4. Personnel Management: Lead, coach, and mentor plant staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment, while effectively managing staffing levels, training, and performance evaluations.
  5. Production Planning: Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing downtime.
  6. Cost Management: Monitor and control production costs, including labor, materials, and overhead expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance, productivity, and profitability, utilizing lean manufacturing principles and other best practices.
  8. Environmental Sustainability: Promote and support environmentally sustainable practices within the plant, minimizing waste generation, energy consumption, and environmental impact.
  9. Customer Relations: Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction with product quality and delivery timelines.
  10. Communication: Effectively communicate with French and English-speaking staff, suppliers, and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, to ensure clear understanding of expectations and objectives.

Requirements:

  1. Fluency in both French and English, with excellent communication skills in both languages, both written and verbal.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  3. Proven experience in plant management or a similar leadership role within the construction industry or manufacturing sector.
  4. Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  5. Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, build consensus, and drive results in a multicultural environment.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications for production planning, inventory management, and data analysis.
  7. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on achieving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  8. Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
