Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will handle essential payroll functions with a focus on Canadian unionized payroll processing, including:
- Accurate and timely payroll processing: Manage end-to-end payroll functions, including new employee setup, terminations, direct deposits, garnishments, and monthly reconciliations.
- Payroll compliance: Prepare T4s, RL1s, and ensure all payroll activities align with regional and federal requirements.
- Communication and support: Respond to payroll inquiries from internal and external stakeholders in both English and French.
- Data accuracy and reporting: Reconcile source deductions, maintain up-to-date payroll records, and support month-end reporting requirements.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English, both verbal and written.
- PCP certification (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) with the National Payroll Institute (NPI).
- Experience in unionized payroll processing, preferably with Quebec-based employees.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with ERP systems like JD Edwards (an asset).
