About the Role
A forward-thinking organization in the automotive services and technology sector is seeking a Bilingual Paralegal to join their Compliance and Legal team on a maternity leave contract (12–18 months). This hybrid role will support a wide variety of legal, regulatory, and corporate compliance matters. The successful candidate will be fluent in both French and English and have experience navigating legal procedures within a corporate or financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain small claims court files, including drafting of pleadings and motions

Conduct legal research and summarize findings for internal stakeholders

Notarize and commission documents as required

Coordinate with external legal counsel and provincial attorneys

Oversee filings for annual returns, licensing, and regulatory registrations

Assist in maintaining the company's intellectual property portfolio (trademarks, patents)

Monitor deadlines, renewals, and correspondence related to IP matters

Collaborate on policy updates, legal form revisions, and compliance documentation

Prepare internal reports, legal summaries, and presentation materials

Support litigation and contractual review activities led by the Chief Compliance Officer

Uphold internal quality standards and contribute to legal best practices

Other administrative and legal support tasks as required
What We’re Looking For

Bilingual (French and English) – both written and spoken

Paralegal diploma or equivalent legal training/certification

Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO)

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a legal, regulatory, or compliance role—ideally in finance, insurance, or automotive sectors

Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to multitask

Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset

Experience managing court processes and regulatory filings
