Job Summary
This role involves evaluating residential mortgage applications, ensuring compliance with our client’s credit policies and guidelines. It requires collaborating with internal teams and external partners throughout the mortgage evaluation, loan fulfillment, and funding processes. The incumbent must make credit decisions that uphold our client’s quality standards and security.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with mortgage brokers and business development managers to onboard suitable files and provide clarification when needed.
- Assess mortgage applications, validate documentation, and make informed decisions.
- Escalate complex applications to management when necessary.
- Ensure thorough evaluations in compliance with policies and regulations.
- Document all communications and maintain positive relationships with partners.
- Promptly escalate any suspicious transactions.
- Facilitate communication and problem resolution among stakeholders.
- Stay updated on products, policies, and processes.
Skills And Experience
- Degree or diploma.
- Progressive underwriting experience, preferably in residential mortgages.
- Strong understanding of real estate market trends and lending practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
