Bilingual Case Investigator

Salary Range: $84,000 to $97,000

Role Overview: The Bilingual Investigator handles complaints about member misconduct, incompetence, and incapacity. The role involves investigating sensitive and complex cases, requiring teamwork and independent work. The investigator must be fluent in both French and English, have a good grasp of relevant laws, and be able to analyze large amounts of information quickly and accurately.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Information Review: Analyze complaints from the public and employers to identify missing information and determine investigation steps.
  2. Interviews: Conduct interviews with complainants, witnesses, and other relevant individuals.
  3. Information Gathering: Obtain additional information from third parties such as courts and child and family services when needed.
  4. Investigation Plans: Create detailed and accurate investigation plans.
  5. Allegation Drafting: Draft allegations of professional misconduct based on gathered information.
  6. Consultation: Work with senior investigators or managers on investigation details and legal advice.
  7. Correspondence: Prepare and send communications about the investigation process to involved parties.
  8. Reports: Write comprehensive investigation reports for review by the Investigation Committee.
  9. Panel Meetings: Attend Investigation Committee meetings to provide case background and answer questions.
  10. Legal Understanding: Understand relevant legislation
  11. Support and Testimony: Support College prosecution counsel and attend hearings to give evidence as needed.
  12. Additional Duties: Perform other tasks assigned by senior staff.
