Bilingual Disability Case Manager, English/French
Introduction
Our client is seeking an experienced Bilingual Disability Case Manager, English/French for a 12-month contract based in North York. This is a hybrid position requiring only one day per week in the office, offering flexibility while keeping you connected to your team.

What You’ll Do
You will manage a caseload that includes both short-term and long-term disability claims. You will assess claim information, review medical documentation, make informed decisions, develop return-to-work plans, coordinate appropriate interventions, and provide responsive service to claimants and other parties involved in each case.
Responsibilities
- Manage short-term and long-term disability claims from assessment through ongoing case management.
- Review medical evidence, contractual provisions, non-medical factors, legislation, applicable programs, and internal policies when making claim decisions.
- Communicate decisions and action plans clearly to claimants and other parties involved in the file.
- Develop strategies and interventions designed to support recovery and reduce disability duration.
- Build and coordinate appropriate return-to-work plans.
- Work with rehabilitation providers, medical consultants, independent experts, and other external resources when appropriate.
- Monitor external interventions to ensure objectives, timelines, and budgets are being met.
- Maintain accurate case information and process applicable payments through internal systems.
- Participate in claim reviews and contribute ideas that improve service and productivity.
- Manage technical and administrative requirements associated with assigned files.
Qualifications
- Fluency in English and French, written and spoken, is required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in disability claims adjudication and disability claims management within a life insurance environment.
- College or university education, particularly in administration, kinesiology, health sciences, or a related discipline, is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of insurance contracts.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and caseload-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and external partners.
- Comfortable working under pressure and adapting quickly to new information, processes, and priorities.
