Job Title: Bilingual Insurance Specialist

Job Reporting To: Manager – Safety and Risk


Summary: As the Insurance Specialist, you will be a key member of the Risk team responsible for various risk management, health and safety, and insurance matters. Your operational experience, preferably in the insurance industry will support you in thriving in your role and will contribute towards the team’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently and collaboratively with the Coordinator Safety and Risk to ensure proper and thorough investigation of incidents and handling of internal claim files
  • Participate in insurer claims reviews and conduct internal claims reviews
  • Serve as first level support for insurance claims related matters and other escalations as they arise
  • Research legislation and standards applicable to the industry
  • Work collaboratively with various internal and external players, building rapport and ensuring smooth collaborative productivity
  • Support corporate head office and franchisee operations in Quebec
  • Provide Risk Management support to internal teams, including data reporting
  • Conduct risk assessments
  • Analyze data to assess risk and make decisions
  • Develop and implement process flows and procedures
  • Conduct research to keep management informed of industry happenings and developments
  • Work on various risk and health and safety projects as required
  • Support franchisee insurance training
  • Participate in Health & Safety Committee meetings as required
  • Travel within Canada from time to time, as required


  • Bilingual professional proficiency in spoken and written French and English
  • Proactive in sharing information and demonstrating leadership
  • Positive attitude towards and ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Self-starter with the ability to work well independently with minimal supervision
  • Outstanding communication skills (oral and written)
  • Keen sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong multi-prioritization and time management skills.
