Bilingual Business Development Specialist – Water Technology

Our client company has served diverse sectors across Canada for over 45 years, offering a wide range of cutting-edge plastic storage tanks for industries such as chemical processes, industrial and municipal water treatment, pulp and paper, and more.

As a Proactive Sales Specialist in Water Technology, you will play a crucial role in our business, driving revenue growth and expanding our customer base. You will report to the Vice-President of Business Development.


  • Identify and prospect potential clients through various channels, including customer lists, cold calling, networking events, professional associations, tradeshows, and online platforms.
  • Take a consultative approach to understand clients' needs and recommend tailored solutions that align with our products and services.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Actively manage the sales pipeline, tracking leads, opportunities, and sales activities.
  • Consistently meet and exceed individual and team sales targets.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to provide valuable insights.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and other departments to ensure seamless customer experiences and efficient processes.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A proven track record of success in technical sales, with at least 5 years of experience in related industries.
  • Strong technical skills in chemical and mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, private/public tenders, plans, and technical specifications.
  • Product knowledge, particularly in tanks, fittings, accessories, and chemical compatibility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey value propositions effectively and build rapport.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities.
  • Exceptional negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to handle objections and turn them into opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is a must.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
